The service provided was swift, thorough and professional — and I was engaged with and kept fully informed throughout the repair work being carried out. Completely satisfied with all aspects of the workmanship and I would recommend very highly.

Had a problem with the kitchen door (uPVC) locking mechanism, which had failed and had resulted in the door remaining locked despite the key turning in the lock. SF came out within a few days as agreed and was on time (actually came slightly earlier than anticipated in the morning). SF had sorted the problem by changing the mechanism and also changing the barrel case that had been bent out of shape over the years, potentially with the door being misaligned, which may have caused the issue. All was done, and the door was back to perfect working order within 20 minutes or so. Whilst paying for a kitchen door to be fixed just before Christmas isn't ideal, the price Stephen charged for coming out and fixing was very reasonable and I thought a fair price. Wouldn't hesitate to use SF's services again if necessary, although obviously I hope I don't need to!

After my son had problems locking and unlocking his UPVC door. I rang S Fretwell and Sons, who advised us over the phone what the issue was. On the day we had arranged the visit, they rang to say they were on their way. I am really pleased with the repair work carried out, as the door is now better than when it was installed. They also charged what they had quoted with no additional charges. We would have no hesitation in contacting them again if we had any further needs, and would definitely recommend their services.

I called Stephen due to a fault with my front door lock and received excellent service. Punctual, professional, friendly, efficient, and able to explain the problem so that even I could understand. He definitely knows his stuff. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, quality (but also reasonably-priced) locksmith, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. I’ve kept his number in my phone for peace of mind in case I ever needed it again, and he would definitely be the first call I made if I had any problems.

We had a problem with a window. Steve came quickly to resolve the problem and did so with ease. He is obviously very capable and good value for money. He was also very friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend.
