One of the most common issues we deal with is problems with external uPVC doors. Over time, locks can wear out, so it’s important to seek expert advice on a door lock upgrade and consider servicing your uPVC door to extend its life and maintain optimum security.
If you live in Tickhill and are experiencing faulty locks, door misalignment, or other issues, call us; a lock replacement is more affordable than buying a new door.
We recommend our customers consider Ultion door locks, a type of high-security, anti-snap lock designed to combat some of the most common methods of forced entry used by thieves.
Ultion locks offer several features that enhance your property’s security. For example, the majority of standard door locks have five security pins, but these anti-snap locks have 11, capable of creating 294,970 different key combinations.
They also have a strong molybdenum core that’s 25% denser than iron, helping prevent lock drilling and snapping. The product enters lockdown mode if it’s tampered with, enhancing your home security.
Window locks can often break or stop functioning properly, and many people ignore the problem when this happens. However, as experienced locksmiths, we recommend servicing your windows, including handles and mechanisms, before intruders have a chance to access your home or business.
In addition to the services listed above, we also offer an emergency call-out service. If you’re locked out of your property or have been the victim of a break-in, contact us, and we will aim to be with you within the hour.
We have a mobile workshop so that we can carry out most lock repairs and replacements on the spot. S Fretwell & Sons uses locks from the biggest manufacturers, and everything we fit meets British Standards.
Today we attended a property in Thorne, Doncaster, where the locking mechanism on a front composite door had failed.
The door was fitted with a Winkhaus two-hook locking mechanism with a 45mm backset. The customer has Cane Corso dogs that regularly jump up at the door handle to get inside, so it’s possible this may have contributed to the mechanism failing.
We replaced the complete Winkhaus locking mechanism, then serviced and adjusted the door to ensure everything was aligned correctly and locking smoothly.
The front door is now working as it should, with the repair covered by our
two-year parts and labour guarantee
.
Our call-outs are free, so if we don’t fix the problem, you won’t be charged.
Wherever possible, we will repair rather than replace to keep the cost down for our customers.
If we do need to replace any parts, they are backed by our 2-year guarantee.
